Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs)

A TUE allows athletes to use a prohibited substance or method for a legitimate medical reason.

  • Apply before using the medication (unless emergency)
  • Must meet strict criteria
  • TUEs must be documented and declared during doping control

  • Report misconduct

You Are Responsible For:

  • Competing clean
  • Checking all substances and medications
  • Complying with testing
  • Filing whereabouts (if required)
  • Avoiding tampering or complicity
